This Mother’s Day I am hosting Mother’s Day Dinner for our immediate family at our house and I am so excited that Landmark Vineyards partnered with me to bring this display to life. After all, it is such a special day of celebration for both my mom and myself, so we are both looking forward to cheers-ing with the yummiest wine in honor of the beautiful families we have created.
For the celebration, I created a tablescape with a soft and girly theme in mind, choosing the most beautiful english garden roses in a peachy pink as my centerpiece. Surrounding the display I chose a palette of golds, from my Olivia & Oliver gold rimmed wine glasses, to my beautiful hand painted checkered MacKenzie-Childs plates. Of course the backdrop for the table was a sweet display of desserts. Here’s a closer look at the details…
Since we are celebrating on a Sunday night, I kept to a relatively casual lineup… chargers followed by dinner plates. I am doing dinner buffet style followed by dessert so I am not doing salad plates and will have little dessert plates for after dinner. To create my table I started with a crisp white linen as my base and then added endless pops of gold. I placed gold rimmed chargers and then my MacKenzie-Childs Parchment Check plates on top. I found the chargers at HomeGoods but found a similar option online here. I must say love these MacKenzie-Childs plates because like most of their pieces, they instantly give the table so much character, plus the fluted edge looks so elegant! For flatware I used my Marchesa by Lenox Imperial Collection which is hammered gold, giving it that extra bit of shine. On Mother’s Day I always try to incorporate a little something sentimental, so I decided to use my grandmother’s white lace napkins at each setting; I truly get my love of hostessing and creating tablescapes from her so I love having something of hers at my table.
A bit about Landmark Vineyards…
Located in Sonoma, CA, Landmark Vineyards is a celebrated producer of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and has dedicated over 40 years to express Californiaβs finest winegrowing regions. Landmark is dedicated to producing handcrafted, ultra-premium wines from unique vineyard sites.
What I love about the website… each wine has a “Food Pairings” suggestion. If you love to host like me, you can truly appreciate these notes, because I am always looking to find complimentary wines for my foods (or better yet, find ideas for my menu)!!
The white wine we are sipping on Mother’s Day is theΒ Landmark 2015 Overlook ChardonnayΒ ($25.00).Β Celebrating its 25th Anniversary with the 2015 vintage, Landmarkβs iconic Chardonnay is sourced from its own estate vineyards in the Russian River Valley, as well as from its growerβs vineyards throughout Sonoma County. The Chardonnay is rich and textured with ripe fruit and lemon, has subtle herbal notes and complex fruit and toasted elements.
And lastly, how can I forget to mention the desserts. How adorable are the individual cupcake stands rather than the usual large cake stand?! It’s such a fun and special way to serve the moms at the table! While I couldn’t find these exact ones online, I found some other adorable options here, here, and here.
Wishing you and all of your mothers a wonderful and special day!
