Dane’s NYC Nursery

As you know we stayed at our family apartment in NYC the last two weeks and experienced city life as a family for the first time since we moved away 3 years ago. As my fellow mamas know well, it can very hard traveling with kids, let alone a baby, so I knew it was important to create a little nursery for Dane so he could sleep well during the course of our trip. I got to work on all my nursery essentials… A beautiful crib {this is the Liberty Crib by Million Dollar Baby}, a cozy and safe mattress {this is the Pure Babyletto mattress}, adorable bedding {this is the star crib sheet from Aden + Anais}, a little something for play {this is the Pottery Barn Kids Mini Kitchen}, and then the standard list of diapers, bibs, etc {more on those below!}.

When I arrived in town, I got to work assembling the crib, washing sheets, organizing my essentials in little bins, and even placing a few decorative toys out as well as a grey and white letter board that said Dane’s name. I have to say it all came out so sweet, I could hardly wait for Dane to arrive.

The Crib

I love the Million Dollar Baby Liberty crib because it really is a beautiful crib, and the detailing on the bars has a vintage elegance to it. With four adjustable mattress levels and hidden hardware construction, I felt safe knowing Dane would be sleeping in it. And best of all, it comes with a railing option which easily converts to a toddler bed or daybed making it a long-lasting piece!

Baby Essentials

Aden + Anais Super Soft diapers are equal parts adorable and functional (how cute are the striped ones Dane is wearing in these photos!!) but can we also talk about their bandana bibs?! OMG anytime Dane wears them, we get so many compliments. Then since Dane is getting new teeth every day, endless burpy bibs are necessary, like this two pack. Then for the crib the star crib sheet really matches the simple white and grey color palette I was trying to achieve (and is so soft!).

Play Time

Lastly, a place for play. I got the Pottery Barn Kids “My First Kitchen” which is perfect for any small space; it has a little door to open and close, and shelves for dishes. Of course he needed plates and cups, so I got this KidKraft 27 piece set on Amazon for $12! The finishing touch was the grey and white letter board so it really felt like his own room. When Dane arrived to his room, he squealed with excitement. He couldn’t decide it he wanted to jump in his crib or throw every plate and cup out of his kitchen, but his big smiles said it all.

Needless to say, the plan worked and Dane slept like a baby over our trip. I am so glad we now have this sweet room set up for all of our future NYC visits.
