Blood Orange Mezza Mule

I love to kick off events with a welcome cocktail or a glass of bubbly… so what could be better than a combination of the two! Whether it’s a luncheon or a dinner party, this light and refreshing cocktail is perfect to serve no matter the occasion. To create the perfect bubbly mix, I partnered with MeZZa di Mezzacorona, an Italian Glacial Bubbly from Northern Italy {you may remember I created the prettiest display with their bubbly poolside at my Cinco de Mayo party!}.

So back to the perfect cocktail… which I am calling the Blood Orange MeZZa Mule. I love mules in the warmer months because ginger beer is so refreshing!! Then blood oranges are the elegant sister to a classic orange… in color and taste. As for the MeZZa di Mezzacorona, the bubbly has sweet aromas of fresh fruits like red apple, pear, white peach, melon, and pineapple making it the perfect fruity compliment. The finished product is a sweet and citrus sparkling combo that is the perfect kick off to any party {especially as the temperature is rising}! Here is the recipe!

Blood Orange MeZZa Mule

Ingredients:

  • juice of 1/2 a medium blood orange
  • juice of 1/2 a lime
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 8 leaves mint
  • 2 ounces chilled ginger beer
  • chilled MeZZa di Mezzacorona for topping

Directions:

In a glass, combine the blood orange juice, lime juice and vodka. Add the ginger beer and top with the MeZZa di Mezzacorona. Garnish with blood orange slices and fresh mint. Enjoy!
