Passover Apple Kugel

Passover Apple Kugel4

This year my husband and I hosted the cutest seder for a few families and their children. Searching for Passover recipes that are actually tasty for adults and kids can be a bit harder than you would expect, so I began browsing the internet for a Kugel substitute that everyone would enjoy. I stumbled upon a version of below and after baking and serving, I can say it is actually delish! I am not kidding, it doesn’t taste like your usual kosher for passover cakes! Sliced and placed on a cake stand, it’s perfect for a family gathering, or it’s great to serve as a sweet side dish if you are desperately missing carbs this week! Enjoy!

Passover Apple Kugel {makes one loaf}:

  • 5 apples cored and diced
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup matzoh meal
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup oil

Mix ingredients together and bake in greased tin pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Serve hot or cold as a side dish or dessert.

  1. Thank you thank you! I see when this was POSTED, but alas, it is now pre-Passover 2020,,ie PANDEMIC PASSOVER. I have no energy, having been on near-lockdown for a while with the rest of my city, and am quite sad over the whole situation. I needed an EASY apple kugel recipe, unlike mine that involves separating eggs. Found this —and it came out YUM! I did, FYI, add a bit of baking powder, and I grated the apples— with a hand grater—- rather than dice them.
