Berry & Flax Seed Smoothie

Mixed Berries Soy Smoothie Rachel wrote, “Dear FH, I am looking for a new breakfast option to switch up from my cereal with soy milk. Do you have a recommendation of something that’s healthy and low calorie?” FH: How about a breakfast smoothie! Berry smoothies are packed antioxidants, are low calorie, and by adding flax seed you get a dose of fiber as well. I love this recipe because by using frozen fruits, you don’t have to worry about buying expensive groceries and using them up before they go bad! This should help keep you full and feeling healthy for your busy day! Mixed Berries & Flax Seed Smoothie (serves 1 small smoothie):

  • 1/4 cup Frozen mixed berries
  • 1/4 cup Frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 ripe banana
  • 2 teaspoons Whole Ground Flax Seed
  • 1/2 cup Light Vanilla Soy Milk (this is what makes it sweet!)

Mixed Berries Soy Smoothie Directions:

  1. Add 1/4 cup Frozen mixed berries to your Magic Bullet cup
  2. Add 1/4 cup Frozen blueberries to your Magic Bullet cup
  3. Add 1/2 banana to your Magic Bullet cup
  4. Time for the secret ingredient! 2 teaspoons of Whole Ground Flax Seed (important that it is GROUND!)
  5. Add your 1/2 cup of Soy Milk
  6. Time to blend … blend for 45 seconds… if it is too clumpy, add more soy milk and continue to blend. Blend until smooth and creamy
  7. Time to screw on the Magic Bullet Top
  8. Tadaaaaa smoothie and cup in one (look at all of the cleaning time you save!)
