Keeping in line with yesterday’s brunch post… I have actually been searching for something new to add into my breakfast repertoire, so as per usual I headed to my Pinterest board to find some healthy breakfast options. Clicking around to find the perfect recipe, I stumbled across this Refinery29 article about how “chia seeds are everywhere… packed with omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, antioxidants, protein, and calcium.” So now that I was hooked on this superfood idea, I decided to craft my fun new breakfast, a chia seed yogurt bowl topped with an assortment of healthy accountrements. So there’s the incredibly easy way to make this recipe, which is to go the store bought route, my favorite being The Epic Seed {a mix of greek yogurt and chia seeds – which can be bought at tons of local groceries}. Or there’s the home-made version, I love the recipe from which consists of mashed banana, chia, and almond milk. For toppings, I pile on the berries, here blueberries and raspberries, and then some crunch to feel satisfied, like raw granola from the Juice Press.
