Dresser Makeover with the Amy Howard at Home Collection

Reese was so excited when she received a hand-me-down bedside table for her bedroom. The shape and size were perfect, but the color, knicks and scratches, and missing hardware needed some fixing asap. I am usually one to shy away from any DIY projects, but after attending an Ace Hardware Workshop in NYC featuring the Amy Howard at Home Collection, I felt I was up for the challenge. The Amy Howard at Home One Step Paint requires no sanding or prep so it’s all very easy to use! Ace Hardware sent me my favorite colors, of course white being my go-to, as well as some amazing stencils, and we {yes, I had my kids help!} got out our paint brushes and got to work. Below are a few before images of the dresser; then below that, I share the finished look as well as a few sweet updates to the room. We are in love with Reese’s girly haven!

I just love how the clean white matches the other furniture in Reese’s room. I also think the sweet stencil detail {which we did on the bottom drawer in pink} is a fun touch {which Reese helped with –  making it all the more special!}. Here is a list of what I used to create the transformation:
  • Amy Howard At Home 8 Oz Bauhaus Buff One Step Chalk Base Paint {here}
  • Amy Howard At Home Ballet White Paint {here} – 2 coats!!
  • Amy Howard At Home Furniture Stencil {here}
  • Amy Howard At Home Light Wax {here} – to make the piece look slightly aged!
