Remember when I moved to Miami and the organizing gurus behind The Home Edit came and magically unpacked and organized my kitchen? Well, these Nashville gals have become some of my closest friends, and not just because they drink champagne on a Tuesday, but because they take the term “GirlBoss” to the next level. They balance motherhood and a fast growing business like champs, while traveling the country to organize some of the coolest celebrities and blogger’s homes, offices, closets, and more {see more on their instagram!}. So when I saw that the co-founder Clea had her chic black and white home featured as a Style Me Pretty Home Tour, I had to have her invite us into her dining room for a FH Dinner Party Spotlight! So here she is… Read on for our go-to interview and how to get the look!

Q & A:

FH: Tell me a quick bio of how you came to start The Home Edit.

Clea: After working on closets for years in Los Angeles, I moved to Nashville wanting to start a full-service home organization company. I met Joanna a couple of months after my move and after a 4 hour lunch, we decided to go into business together. That night, we spent another 4 hours over text message figuring out the company name, our logo, and grabbing all of our social handles. We basically built our brand in a single day – and 1 year later, we have been featured in everything from Domino to Architectural Digest, have a large roster of celebrity clients, and have a 3 month waiting list for jobs.

FH: What is your entertaining style? Traditional, Contemporary, Seasonal?

Clea: My entertaining style is a lot like my overall decor style. I like things to be minimal, symmetrical, and contemporary. My color palette is traditionally black, white, and a  pop of plant.

FH: How often do you entertain and for how many guests?

Clea: Having two kids and a full time business doesn’t allow for much entertaining, so when I do, I like to host small dinner parties. It gives me a chance to catch-up with friends in an intimate setting. Plus, my general rule of thumb is to never have more people in my home than I have coasters for.

FH: Do you have a go-to recipe or dish {or do you avoid cooking at all costs}?

Clea: Before I had children, I used to cook all the time… When I only had one child, I would make some kind of simple pasta dish… Now that I have two kids, my go-to is Postmates.

FH: Do you have a go-to cocktail?

Clea: Champagne or Rosé all day.

FH: Did something inspire you for today’s table? A certain color, flower, plate?

Clea: I love fall… I live for it! So whenever I get the chance to add in white pumpkins, fall foliage, and woodsy elements, I jump at it.
