Cleaning Your Makeup Brushes

Cleaning Your Makeup Brushes

A New Year’s Resolution of mine was the simple yet daunting task of cleaning my makeup brushes. I purchased the Sephora Purifying Brush Shampoo (it’s only $7!) months ago, and for some reason I found endless excuses to put off using it time and time again. After finally deciding I would tackle this task I realized this was probably the easiest resolution I could check off my New Year’s List; it literally took two minutes (and an hour of drying time). So if you too have been dreading the idea of cleaning your tools, put your procrastination aside, grab this brush shampoo, and get to work with the quick easy instructions below. Your makeup will look more fresh, your skin will look clearer (less chance of break outs!!), and your overall makeup experience will be more sanitary!

The Easy Steps….

Dampen the brush bristles with lukewarm water. Pump a small amount of shampoo into your hand or directly onto the brush. Gently rub the bristles while rinsing, repeat the wash and rinse until the water streaming from the brush looks clear. Squeeze out any excess water with a lint-free tissue. Reshape brush and lay flat on a small washcloth. Wait to dry before using. And there you have it… good as new!!
